My name is Amy Smith, and I am a committed educator whose previous experience in the business world continues to be a valuable tool in the education that I bring to my students.

I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Political Science from the University of Louisville in 1995. My career began in marketing with a small stop loss insurance company located in Louisville, Kentucky.

After relocating to Michigan in 1999, I received my teacher’s certification from Saginaw Valley State University in 2002. I am proud to have been one of the graduates of the Accelerated Certification Program at the University. This program combines intensive course work with 35 weeks of student teaching.

I currently reside in Saginaw with my husband Brice and have been teaching 1st ,2nd, and 4th grade at Francis Reh Public School Academy for the past six years.  I continue to take graduate classess in order keep myself abreast of current teaching strategies and best practices.  I will be earning my Masters Degree in Educational Leadership, and I hope one day to go into the administrative side of education.
